Florida Drug Detox Center Programs

In Unity Recovery Center's detox programs, a patient will be medically managed 24-hours a day, and will participate in a daily module designed to increase the understanding of one's addiction and triggers. The patient will live away from his or her usual surroundings and is supported around the clock by our trained medical personnel and counselors so that the discomfort associated with withdrawal is handled safely and kept to a minimum. Treatment at our drug detox center consists of abstinence from drugs, medical stabilization, and important lifestyle changes and education.

Alcohol Detox Program

The objective of an alcohol detox program is to help the patient achieve an alcohol free state so they can move on to the next step which is actually treating the addiction. A medical doctor will need to supervise a patient's medical withdrawal from alcohol, ensuring this phase is completed safely and with minimal complications. Alcohol detox is intended to relieve the physical symptoms of withdrawal and addiction. Alcohol detox at Unity Recovery often lasts several days and helps prepare the patient for entry into addiction treatment.

Drug Detox Program

In many cases of drug abuse there is a psychological dependence on the drug as much as there is a physical dependency. For this reason, we recommend a period of stabilization, followed by treatment at our rehabilitation center where a patient's emotional needs and issues can also be addressed. Medically supervised drug detoxification usually lasts three to seven days, though this is a very general period of time, as some patients will require more time depending on the substance or degree of their addiction.

Rapid Detox Program

Drugs that will require close supervision are Hydrocodone, Oxycontin, Xanax, and Vicodine. Close supervision will require monitoring the vital signs of the patient as well as supportive care and medication if necessary. Rapid detoxification is a safe procedure that flushes the body of opiates, while the patient remains comfortable in a supervised sedation induced "sleep".
